Black Image Center’s Co-Working sessions are open from 12-8pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays every week. This program is designed to encourage connection between our community members, many of whom are freelance artists on top of working day jobs.

For $5 a day or $35 for the month, participants are able to access specialized printers and photo paper to generate high-quality prints, a library of rare art books centering Black photographers, use of professional photo scanners, and other tools to support creative careers.

Testimonials from participants indicate that Co-Working not only serves to nourish the desire for a soft place to land, but also for friendship and community. The majority of the people who come to Co-Working are ages 20-35, and the feedback we have received about this program specifically indicates that one of the biggest impacts that it has is that it serves as a remedy for the loneliness epidemic by providing a like-minded community for Black creatives.
